Dr. Leslie Hushka
Chief Impact Officer
Dr. Leslie Hushka is the Chief Impact Officer for Cyclyx. She has 25 years of experience in building sustainability-focused organizations and programs in the corporate and non-profit sectors. She excels at establishing strategies to address environmental impacts, multi-stakeholder communication, and collaborations to meet a company’s unique challenges.
Dr. Hushka served as the managing director for North America and the chief sustainability officer at GreenDot Global, working with the company and stakeholders to develop enhanced recycling operations and increased plastic collection in the U.S. Previously, she crafted The Bumble Bee Seafood Company’s corporate sustainability programs and established its strategy and programs to ensure the health and abundance of tuna stocks, reduce the impact of fishing on other species, and remove plastics and other waste from the ocean.
Before joining Bumble Bee, Dr. Hushka worked at ExxonMobil, where she held various research, public, and government affairs leadership positions within the Corporation’s Research, Chemical, Development, and Production Companies, advancing progress on a wide array of societal issues. She helped form and lead two NGOs—the Alliance to End Plastic Waste to tackle plastic waste in the environment and the Marine Well Containment Company set up in response to the 2010 BP Gulf of Mexico spill.
She holds a Ph.D. in Pharmacology and Toxicology from Purdue University and lives in The Woodlands, Texas.
